It is all Worth it...
Hi folks, I just got back from the 19th Annual Adopt a Native Elder Rug Show in Park City Utah... no words can explain the magic that is present at this event... the rugs that are woven carry such sacred vibrations that just by looking at them your spirit feels at peace... So many folks come together to make this magical event possible, as they volunteer their time and efforts... I like to thank all of you.
This year one of the stars of the event was a 21 year old Dutch girl who felt a calling in her soul... she became a cyber friend of mine over a year and half ago and she told me how she wanted to paint for me... so I suggested that she should paint a painting every year that could be auctioned at the show... last year her painting was in the basket from the Jaybirds and I.. and it sold for the highest bid of the night!
So this year... she jumped on a plane and left Holland for the first time in her life, to fly all the way to Utah, to help set up the show and work along side all the wonderful volunteers who make this event possible... she was greeted with so much love and warmth that by the time I got there on Thursday... I could not spot her at the dinner that was held for the Elders... she was dressed in full Navaho dress with matching Jewelry and hair...!!! She had become as one with The People... Dine People.
This is what Adopt a Native Elder is all about... reaching across cultural and racial barriers to help other human beings... so it really does not matter where you are born or what language you speak... it is an exchange of love and humanity...
As I stood back and watched the show unfold, I was filled with a sense of pride... I set out to bring this event to as many folks as I can... and to see my fans donate their time as Mo Mo a ( Jaybird ) did on the last food run, to all the Jaybirds who donated money and time to help out... I realized every little effort counts and no matter how small a donation... it all matters... and that my efforts are making a difference.
I want to thank Linda and Grace the founders that lead this event every year with their boundless love and dedication and a special thank to the beautiful Celest who became good friends with Rosita on line and the two of them collaborated to create a wonderful painting for this years show, that sold at the auction. Also I like to thank Susan for her generous spirit and all that she did to help me this year with raising money including buying Rosita's painting... and to Diane in Florida who bought a rug on the phone...
To RRF and Claudia... and Anne and Leeloo my USA, Dutch, German and French web masters... and all they did to bring this info to all the international fans...
As our family grows and as we reach out to help others no matter where they may be from... we are helping ourselves in a way too... for anything you want in life... you must give it away first... then it will come to you...
I thank you all for your support and love...
With all my heart...
