mmm Gandhi said "Be the change you wish to see in the world" The thing is, the people who want destruction and sadness are already the change they wish to see in the world... but what bout us? the ones working for light? are we really the change we wish to see in the world? are we really always at our fullest? .... hope so happy new year everyone, may it be a good one ! love Moriah

I was just wondering again what a person has to do to stay in the United States from another country. I don't remember if there is a certain procedure they go through, and how they become an American citizen. I know being born in the United States you are an American citizen, birth certificate saying where you are born, what state, and city.

Good topic of discussion. I have very strong feelings for this country,as many do, I appreciated the article.
I just try to remind myself that if you notice the countries that people are dying ( literally)to get into and flocking to in droves, then look at the countries where people are leaving by the boatloads it's not hard to see which governments work and which don't . We are not perfect , I already know that, but we are all those things this article states. A close Native friend commented that "It doesn't matter who is in Washington D.C., it is still indian land and always will be, as long as we sing and dance".

That's a good answer and a wonderful story if were all true, very simply putted Here is just a thought : if America was running to help about every nation in need because of charity reasons,(which hasn't)how come it doesn't help his First Nations, life on many reservations is same like third world country!! To add the small not unimportant detail that "An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans",is true they are the REAL Americans but are they getting the same rights? I used to wonder the same thing, but I realized that it's alot easier to point fingers at other countries and say "look how bad it is there" or "look at what these people are having to live like" and forget that our country has it's own set of problems that we still need to fix. It is a good thing that we help so many other countries out when they are in need, but no one is coming into our country and helping our native people still on reservations with hardly anything, or helping our homeless or raising money for our abused children and women. It's alot easier to ignore a problem if it's right in front of you every day. Im not gonna lie I didn't realize how bad life on a reservation was until I saw the adopt an elder site on this website and went to it and it's a real eye opener that there are people in our own country that need just as much help as those starving children in africa.
