Wow, I just read Re: Die for the One who Cries for You.......and I cried, I don't know if I was crying for Jay or Mohawk, there's a puddle of Tears on my keyboard, so sad, I hope you know that You did the right thing, he could not speak aloud, but if he could he would have told you He loved You and it was time for him to take his Journey home, Peace, Friend..................

Oh my goodness this story of Mohawk - resonates my own story with my buddy of 16 years. To this day that was the hardest thing to do. But I knew his quality of life was compromised beyond what medicine and daily care could remedy. It has been years ago but I still miss Jaxon's brown eyes and goofy ears. I love the expression you quoted.
I am glad you shared your story with us, it allowed me to revisit my memories of Jaxon and his sweet spirit. My personal belief is that we will have our animals again ( in the afterlife) but that it will be the choice of the animal if they want to be near their people again. I know Jaxon loved me and will choose me again. Mohawk misses you and will choose you also.

I'm so sorry for you loss. I too lost a precious dog that I had to put down and I know your pain.
