I must say that prior to watching Jay as Waka Mani, Chief Prairie Fire was my main man! Jay's performance, while much too short for my liking, was one of intensity and passion. Tears came to my eyes to see him grieve over the loss of his child; it was touching to see a father share his emotions in such a raw, wrenching manner. Of course, the love scene was pretty good too. Didn't take Naomi long to figure out Chief Prairie Fire was the man for her----smart woman.
Jay, thanks for all you do in front of the screen and in private. Stay cool.

Oh Yeah.......Chief Prairie Fire! Reply with quote I loved Jay as Chief Prairie Fire. You first see him with a stern look on his face, standing tall and proud with hands behind his back as he barters for Naomi Wheeler, telling an elder Cheyenne woman; "She will be now called 5 Horses". I had to laugh a bit in the scene when the Naomi is being prepared for Chief Prairie Fire with "Special Oils" and he comes in see her then she begins saying nursery rhymes. LOL Too.......Funny! The look on Chief Prairie Fire's face was of, " What is wrong with this woman! " LOL, Memorable!
Also, a very touching scene when Chief Prairie Fire is seen by 5 Horses, crying aloud as he mourns the loss of his child. You can feel the emotion from that scene. This is when Naomi sees Prairie Fire for who he really is, and opens up to him.
I Would love to have seen a continuation on the storyline of Chief Prairie Fire and Five Horses.

I really liked the way Jay looked as Chief Prairie Fire, but as usual, I really wanted to see more of him. It was nice to see him not die in another movie. I really loved it when he would not sell Five Horses. The other guys stuff just couldn't sing, so he wasn't gonna part with Five Horses. How lovely. . . . *purrrrr.*

Watched Into the West for the first time this week on dvd. I hadn't heard of it before. Being in Australia that isn't suprising.
When Jay's character Chief Praire Fire came on screen I was mesmerised how beautiful and majestic he was. It was what I had imagined a Chief to be. The way he used his eyes to portray emotion is amazing. I couldn't take my eyes off him while he was onscreen. The only disappointment is the character is not on screen long enough!
The scenes with the characters Naomi and Chief Prairie Fire were amazing, with drama, humour, sadness and finally happiness. Even though these two actors were not on screen together very long in comparison to the overall series, they had great chemistry together, which is fantastic to watch.
I especially like the scene where Chief Prarie Fire has lost his child, Naomi comforts him and he cries. Terrific scene. All their scenes were wonderful. I wish there were more though. I went onto the next episodes hoping the characters would appear again and was disappointed they didn't.
