Hello to everyone in Jayland:
Wendy Sanborn volunteers for the Adopt-A-Native Elder Program and has created a program called Walk In Beauty that helps Navajo children. She is in her 20's and has on her own, started this program. Over the past 2 years, Wendy has collected donations and with them bought over 300 pairs of shoes for very needy Navajo children who live on the Navajo Reservation in southern Utah and northern Arizona.
Below is a website where you can vote for a wonderful humanitarian, Wendy Sanborn. She has been selected by L'Oanréal Paris as a 2008 Woman Of Worth for the Points of Light Institute. Originally there were 2700 entrants and now there are only 10 women left who are being honored.
L'Oréal Paris will donate $5,000 to Walk in Beauty this December. And the program has the opportunity to win an additional $25,000 donation for Walk in Beauty through online voting. Such a sum would allow the program to provide new sneakers for hundreds of children on the Navajo Reservation.
Please visit www.womenofworth.com to vote for Wendy Sanborn to become the National Woman of Worth as well as for Walk in Beauty to receive another $25,000 donation. You can cast your vote thru Monday, November 24th.
You will be able to help more of these Navajo children with your vote. Please email your friends so that they too can vote.
Blessings to all,

A LETTER FROM WENDY:
Dear Friends,
Thank you for making the Rug Show such a beautiful experience again this year. I know that the elders, other volunteers and visitors all appreciated our efforts to create a special event.
I'm writing to ask for your support on a different front... you may have already heard that Walk in Beauty has been honored by the Points of Light Institute and I have been selected by L'Oréal Paris as a 2008 Woman Of Worth.
Women Of Worth--an award to honor women who volunteer in their communities--selects 10 honorees from around the country each year and makes donations in their honor.
L'Oréal Paris will donate $5,000 to Walk in Beauty and another $5,000 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation this December. We have the opportunity to win an additional $25,000 donation for Walk in Beauty through on-line voting. Such a sum would allow us to provide new sneakers for hundreds of children on the Navajo Reservation.
Please visit www.womenofworth.com to vote for me to become the National Woman of Worth and Walk in Beauty to receive another $25,000 donation. Voting runs through next Monday, November 24th.
Walk in Beauty is built on all of our efforts to support the elders and children and thus the award honors all of us!
In beauty,
Wendy
