I had to see this movie at least two additional times to fully appreciate Jay's role. Yeah, it could have had something to do with the outfit, the way Jay jumps on a horse or his smooth, creamy cinnamon skin...need I say more? Nah! Or it could have been the fact Kayitah had a fat Zuni girlfriend. Hoorah for Big Girls!!! (LMBO) Laughing
Anyway, I liked how rich and full Kayitah's laughter was and how he was fervent about helping his son. Jay truly rocks in this part!

This is one of my favorite Jay films. I have seen it over 100 times and still not tired of seeing it. (No Joke!) Jay's opening scene as Kayitah when he rides up on his horse and you see this strong Chiricahua Apache. I love when he says; "You People looked pissed off all the time" when speaking to Chaa-duu-ba-its-iidan aka Tommy Lee Jones.
My favorite is when Chaa-dui-bat0its-iidan ask Kayitah if he still goes up North to see that fat Zuni woman, and his reply was; "No, She started to like me too much." (All the while he is laughing). LOL
Also, Jay's final scene inwhich Kayitah is fighting to the bloody end with the evil Brujo and his posse, shouting "Goozhoodash" (Let All Good Things Happen). Just sad, brings tears to ones eyes.

Moni...this is just one more reason I like you so much! Great minds think alike! Actually, this movie ranks right up there with some of my all time favorite John Wayne westerns. I've also seen it numerous times. Love it!

I only saw it once, and that was the movie that made me fall in <3 with Jay. I had seen Adaptation and Escape to Grizzley Mountain before that, but back then I was too know the true meaning of "so freaking hot" lol
When I first saw Jay in The Missing, I didn't think at all "omg this guy is the most beautiful male homosapien I've ever seen in my life". I just loved his character sooo much , and was so sad when they killed him off Sad Then I searched his name on google, and this site came up. The rest is history.
Ciao

I am watching The Missing again. Amazing movie, brilliant actors .... Jay is breathtaking! Every move and every word ... are just impressive!
The episode were Kayitah is getting killed is so powerful, so real, heroic and tragic. Then there is a moment when his son is standing looking at the blood on the stones at the spot where Kayitah was killed ...

LOL OK so you've discribed my favorite scenes also. But I just have to add the cross eyed discription of the wife- He isn't mean in anyway at all, he is just letting Maggie know the wife was not pretty and what the wife looked like. Still I have to smile when I see that eye go cross-eyed.
