Jay is the best thing about "Adaptation." I don't have a problem with quirky films, but "Adaptation" was a little too out there for my taste. That said, I actually own "Adaptation" on DVD. Why? Because of Jay's fantastic scene with Meryl Streep! He did more than hold his own, he stole the scene right out from under her. I love to pop the DVD in and watch Matthew Osceola make Susan Orlean squirm and fidget. As Matthew, Jay delivers three of my favorite movie lines: "I'm not going to talk to you much. It isn't personal. It's the Indian way." I laugh every time. This movie is worth seeing for Jay alone.

Totally Agree! Reply with quote I did enjoy Adaptation as a whole, but it was Jay's character Matthew Osceola that captivated the movie audience with his performance with Meryl Streeps character Susan. If you weren't paying attention to the movie, it was that one scene alone that alerted everyone. Loved it! Thumbs up Jay! Smile

The movie as a whole is not an ordiary one but the story is excellent! Of course I bought the movie for only one purpose... to see Jay. He did a great job, as always, and I loved his performance. My favorite part was the one where he was talking to Meryl Streep and he touched her hair and then he said something like, he was sorry he couldn't talk to her anymore, it wasn't personal, it was an "Indian Thing" !! LOL, man that line was hillarious, i busted out laughing!!! Again his part was too short for my pleasure but at least I can see it over and over again just to see Jay. The other cast members were good too, if I could only remember who the other ones were..... oh well... lol Wink

Watched Jay in this for the first time and the scene with Meryl's character is excellent ;D Jay is great as this character and looks wonderful I don't know why that scene is amusing, it just is I've watched it a couple of times and laugh out loud I watched Jay in Streetfighter, El Padrino and Adaptation in one day and of the three, Matthew is my favourite character. Perhaps because the conversation is not an ordinary one I don't know why Nicholas Cage was so annoying in this movie I usually like watching him in character.
