Sami Asks...
Ok, ummm....So, I'm a bit of a puppy fan. I love any and all types. My questions relate to your pup Mohawk.
How is Mohawk doin right now? When you have to go travel someplace to do work, do you bring him with you or do you have to leave him at home with a sitter? Also, a lot of the Jaybirds have been calling Mohawk "Momo" which in Japanese means "Peach". I was wondering if you minded us calling Mohawk as Momo.
If you could answer that, you definitely will be putting my mind at ease cuz I always wondered about that. Grin. I have so many other questions but I don't want to overstay my welcome. Grin. I ramble too much.
I like you like I like Whipped Creme!
Rock the Kasbah,
Samantha...aka...Sami
Jay Writes...
Hi Sami, how you doing? Mohawk has several other names that I call him. In fact we have our own little goofy language that he likes me to babble to him. Dogs and Wolves can understand tones no matter what language is spoken and MOMO is one of the names I call him by, I think Sage had mentioned that before, just as I used to call Cheyenne ShyShy. Ever since Cheyenne passed on, Mohawk has become more dependent on me. The worse punishment for him is to be home alone so I have no choice but to take him whereever I go. He would rather sit in the car for hours than stay home. I do have housesitters and recently when I was in Santa Fe for a week or so I had several people take care of him and my luck we had the worse lighting storm in history of LA on that weekend. MoMo hates thunder and Chris, who was with me on the Red Carpet on the Oscar night was taking care of him and boy o boy she did not get to bed till 5am. She said he was trying to dig a hole in her bed to get under it.LOL. Now he is normally fearless but thunder is whole other thing for him. I feel very sad when I have to leave him just as a father would and worry as I know how attached he is to me, or is it the other way round? I guess that is about it for now...
LOL. Oh, one more thing... you Rock the Kashba too!
Jay.

Jay,
It's so happened that I was checking the site before beddie bye , and there was your post to "the Sam-a-nader .Just had to take my life into my hands, and give her a call !!!! LOL
I just love giving good news !!!!
She's very happy right now!!!! And will reply when she get's it together!!!
On the MoMo front, my little 'peep' is also afraid of lightning . He too always find his way into my bed.
When the 'kid' was a wee little 'peep', it was cool . These days my 'peep' takes over since he is now 160lbs., and 5ft.9". He's almost 14.
I've learned to just give in, and let the 'kid' have what he wants. Best way to get some rest LOL!!!!
Gotta love the 'kids' !!!

Jay,
Thanks for sharing about Mohawk and I'm sure Sami will be very thrilled and "jump for joy" to read your response to her question.
If anyone saw the movie "Because of Winn Dixie", he too, was afraid of thunderstorms. It was so disheartening to see him frantically run back & forth through the house. Trying to talk and reassure him did no good and I guess there really isn't anything you can do -- but watch -- be patient, wait and for the storm to be over soon. BTW, that was an excellent movie.
Way to go Sami!

Jay Asks...
Hi Sami, how you doing?
Sami Writes...
Hi Jay! I'm doing great!!!! I'm just a bit winded from acting like a fanatical fan girl while on the phone with Dazzle and Barbara. Believe me, their ears are probably still ringing, and if I were to give them a nickel for every time I said "OH MY GOD!" they'd be rich. Grin. Been keeping uber busy with work...juggling too many jobs and seriously lacking in social life...and last but not least, trying to survive with some crazy room mates. lol.
Now, on to the questions you answered for me! THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU for that. Grin. Babe, you got a way with words! Grin.
I'm glad that Mohawk is doing great! I was really worried about your travelling situation with him and it had been on my mind for some time. I understand what it's like to not want to travel without your best fuzzy pal with you. My pup could never be left at home alone for any amount of time cuz the first thing he'd go for are for my teddy bears. I swear, he loves to tear apart all my stuffed animals, even if I hang them up high, he still finds a way to get to them. Three things to know about my dog, 1) He out weights me, 2) he's taller than me when he stands on his hind feet, 3) I swear he's got some mountain goat somewhere in his genes...I swear. lol. But my pup and Momo share the same fear of Thunder. The last time it thundered back here, (my dog's name is Jed) he almost smothered me to death!!! I really almost suffocated!!! lol. He crawls onto my lap and whines and even howls sometimes when he gets scared of the thunder. But other times, he's perfectly sane. Grin. I'm glad that I tend to work crazy hours so staying up really late at night never bothers me a bit if there's a thunderstorm that lasts until 5am like for your friend Chris (btw, she's really pretty, ya can tell her that). Actually, you had mentioned the thunderstorm in LA in your post, I heard all about that. Boy did I hear a lot about that. I have a friend who has a sound studio in the same zip as your fan mail box and apparently, there were some crazy leaks in the offices. My friend's yard had gotten uber flooded as well. So I know exactly which storm you referred to. grin. I'm just glad that everything was alright. I'm also surprised to see that you babble a goofy language to your pup! That's so kewl!!! I do baby talk to my pup in Japanese, funny thing is that he understands a few words here and there and will respond. Unfortunately, there are banned words in my household. lol. like: Walk, spelling out the word "Walk", saying a word that sounds like "Walk", saying Sampo which is Japanese for "walk", Spelling Sampo...ya get the drift. lol. Jed actually pulls his lips back in what I assume to be a smile, though some folk think that he's baring his teeth at me. It's really cute. I'm really sad about you losing Cheyenne. Even though I never met her, I felt like I knew her from how much you posted about her. I have a bit of a soft spot when it comes to anything fuzzy and I truly cried for her that day. I'm sure she's in a better place. And it seems that Mohawk has adapted well enough since she left. My dog had a bit of a hard time when my foster pup was adopted. Luckily for him, I take him out to visit her at her new home every so often. But since he's such an old pup (12 years old now) he's begun to feel lonely more often without other fosters to keep him on his toes. I'm just glad that Mohawk has such a great owner. I'm sure you'd make a wonderful father too if ya ever decide to go that route.
And before I babble too much, I jotted some words down cuz i was Seussing it up earlier with Barbara on the phone. I had to seuss it up for you.
In gratitude, But with ineptitude...What can I say? But iterate, that I appreciate your time, your consideration, your commitment, your dedication.
It has indeed made a difference.
Thank you.
Ya rock the Kasbah to no end!

I used to dog sit for people. And most little dogs including one we use to have, hate thunder.
The last one I sat for used to quake and couldn't find anywhere safe to go. Tried under the bed and she shook all over. There was no comforting her.
She had to spend time alone while her mistress worked so I guess that is what happened.
Poor thing. She is no longer with us.

It's 11:28am, and I'm still jumping...well, not on the bed....maybe if my coworker comes in with another paper for me to fill out, I might just jump on him.
Eeeee! I'm glowing.
The ladies have been picking on me saying, "I know what SHE'S glowing for." But little do they know right? hehe.
Thank you Jay!

Mar 10th, 2005 - 12:54 PM Way to go Sami!
Hey Sami,
It's great that Jay answered one of your many questions! That's like totally awesome, dude! Thought I'd try my hand at surfer-dude talk...no? Tough forum...
I'm so happy for you that I'd do backflips but I'm afraid of nailing a co-worker in the head! Not that I CAN do a backflip! LOL Maybe I'll just do a little two-step or break out the old tap shoes. Stomp buck time-step time! And a one-a and a two-a...
Aw heck, just enjoy being on , baby! Whoo hoo!

Congratulations Sami, I know you're on . I couldn't help but laugh about Mohawk being afraid of thunder because my aunt used to have a dog that was the same way. Enjoy

Wiitopa Konhe, is going to have to be the recovery coach again if you don't stop......

Jul 11th, 2005 - 2:16 PM True about the thunder issue
I used to dog sit for people. And most little dogs including one we use to have, hate thunder.
The last one I sat for used to quake and couldn't find anywhere safe to go. Tried under the bed and she shook all over. There was no comforting her.
She had to spend time alone while her mistress worked so I guess that is what happened.
Poor thing. She is no longer with us.
Glad that Jay shared that. Makes it so much more special.
