Do you think it's possible for an animal you've never met to communicate to you through dreams?
The reason I am asking you this question: I LOVE horses and I am saving my money to buy my first horse in a few years. There have been a couple of times when I have been looking on the internet from breeders I'm consider buying from-but I don't ever see a horse that makes me breathless. I've had a couple of dreams about horses and the last one I had was very vivid. I'm not going to tell you the dream, but I heard the words: "You'll know me when you see me." That is why I am asking the question above, because it kind of freaked me out.
Thank You,
Jen

Hi Jen. In your question lies one of the most intriguing secrets of our universe!? The question of Chance vs. Destiny. Is it coincidence or was it meant to be? Interesting enough the word coincidence comes form the mathematical word for coexisting angles which are angles that were meant to meet. Perfectly matched. So coincidence really means it was meant to be not by chance which is what it has become to mean?! I can only tell you that in dreams we are in touch with areas of the subconscious that normally lay dormant. Many times a dream may not have a literal interpretation but there are times you know exactly what it means. I had already a name for Mohawk before I rescued him and I visualized what he was going to look like. When I got him out of the shelter he did not look like my dream dog but he became the one. Yes, I believe you can get messages in your dreams but it is more important to stay open to the signs around you and you will know your answers cause they will be revealed to you. Just stay open and surrender to the law of uncertainty, stop the fears and worries and visualize what you want and pray for it. iI will come to you. Don't chase it. Just believe. If you do this you will have found one of the most underrated principles of our Universe. Jen I know that lucky horse is dreaming of you just as you are dreaming of her. I hope you find each other soon.
Keep your dream alive...
Jay.

Excellent Q & A!
My mom used to tell me to visualize a situation that I was apprehensive about. I used to live by some fears when meeting new people and such. Mom always said to visualize being relaxed and talking with people. That way when I got there I was already their friends.
Believe it not it works!
Jen, I hope you get your horse real soon.

Mr. Tavare -
Thank you for answering my question! I was basically shocked that it was even answered, but I liked the insight of the answer. I didn't know that you already had a name for your dog Mohawk! If the day comes when I buy a horse, I want to either name my horse Sharifa which means honest/noble, Emira which means princess, or Ya-Bint-Al-Hawa which means Daughter of the Wind. I'll just have to wait and see what her personality is like!

Jen, I see you naming her Emira. That really touched me. I had a big love in my life named Princess and she was a Golden Retriever Dog. I got her in Europe and brought her back on the airplane to the states. She lived 13 years and she died in my arms. She was a very special soul and she meant everything to me. I haven't been the same since her passing 4 years ago although i know she is happy in heaven

Isn't it funny how pets can change our lives forever? My sister Cheri has two cats: Toshamo, who she resuced from a shelter and Saphire, who she got when she was kitten-but those cats have changed my sisters life. Especially Saphire, because she got her when our parents were going through a major divorce. Even though my sister is married, her cats knew that there were some emotions she couldn't tell her husband.

Jen,
What a fascinating question!
I don’t think I can match the eloquence of Jay’s answer, but this is what popped into my head when I read your question. It sounds like your dream is telling you that you’re going to fall in love at first sight with the horse who should be yours.
I totally believe in love at first sight. Plus, there is scientific research to support it. 75% of couples who get married as a result of love at first sight stay married. Maybe to call it “love at first sight” sounds too romantic for your situation. Maybe we should call it instinct.
If you learn to read and listen to your instincts, you will find your horse.
Personal opinion, I think you’ll have to see the horse in person and get a sense of its spirit, essence, or aura – whatever you want to call it. When your spirit connects with the right horse’s spirit, you’ll know. Not that he’s an animal, but this is how I found my husband. I looked into his face, our spirits connected, and I just knew. The same thing happened with my cat and my best friend.
Happy horse shopping!
Margot
p.s. I already named my daughter, even though, for health reasons, I'm not supposed to have children. I'm calling her Amethyst.

I like the name that you would give to a daughter, it's not very common. I'm afraid I am a very boring person, my first daughter's name will proably be: Ida Elizabeth after my grandmother and great-granmother on my mom's side. And since my family is famous for females, I'll proably end up with all girls! My brother ended up with four daughters before he had a son, but ya-know what, he wouldn't trade his family for the world!
As far as "love at first sight", I am not even commenting on that one! Let me just put it this way, I proably won't get married for a very long time. I was engaged in 2003 but learned quickly I was getting married for the wrong reasons-never, ever get married because all your friends are!

Once again Jay has answered with the same spirit and eloquence he always does.
In essence of what he said, when you meet your horse for the first time, your "spirit" will tell you, "yes, this is the one." You'll just feel it in the deepest depths of your soul. This is also true for people too. There a certain qualities in a person that attracts you to them and you don't know exactly why, but you also know that for some reason, they were meant to cross your path. As Toosie said (I absolutely LOVED it Toosie) "Mom always said to visualize being relaxed and talking with people. That way when I got there I was already their friends." I couldn't have said it any better.
Good luck with finding your new "brother/sister".
PS Beautiful horse names.

There`s always the question of synchronicity vs. coincidence and those are supposed to mean different things. Are there people you are supposed to meet? Could that apply to animals? I think so. That horse I sponsor at the horse refuge...the 1st time I was there, I was walking thru a pasture and stuck out my hand for balance, I think, and had a nose shove in it. We walked all over the pasture like that. Was It a fluke? 2 wks later, he did the same thing. Months later, I was leaning against his left hip. I`d combed out his mane when I looked down at his tail. He`s bomb-proof, doesn`t startle, nevertheless, I went into what if mode--what if he kicks me? What if I surprise him? He knows I`m back here but what if, what if...? He straightens out, I straighten up. He moves forward a step(all 4`s)Takes a whole step sideways bumping me with his butt then takes a whole step back. Now, I`m facing his right hip. I look at him. He looks at me and I say,"Wise Ass." I swear he grinned. Did he know I was worried about getting kicked? Did he know I was worried about startling him? How did he know to do that? I combed out the tail. Whoever you have in your dream may be different than who you find but, I think you`ll know him/her. Just treat your new horsey friend well. I`ve seen plenty that haven`t been.
Hope that helps, Barbara

Thank you for your insight! I know the horse is one of the most abused animals in the world, I've seen it first hand. I drive by pastures that have no shelter for their animals, I've seen pictures in my classes of animals that are skin and bone, and I've heard the horror stories from a man I respect as one of my teachers at Utah State: Dr. McNeal (Doc).

I have came to believe that in life everything happens for a reason. So, one sleepless night while thinking about this very same subject, I had to write this poem.
Coincidence, I Think Not
We appear in and out of eachothers' lives with unmistaken purpose
Our paths are meant to be crossed if only for a fleeting moment or for eternity
As we pass, much is learned from all we meet whether good or bad
And our lives grow in wisdom from those experiences
Nothing is accidental
Nothing is happenstance
In life, all things are meant to be
Coincidence, I think not
All that takes place in this world is God's plan.

I saw "horses" and bestill my heart. I am an animal lover and rescuer. There absolutely is a horse waiting for you!!! You can save a horse's life by contacting a horse rescue group for specific breeds or buying a horse at a horse sale/auction. At horse sales, horses that aren't bought are sold and usually slaughtered. Such is the life of the race horse who doesn't run fast enough, show horses or a person that wants a "better" horse. Horses are sold many times to many people. It's truly sad. My horse, 'Zeke-The Black" is going to be 29 years old in January. Please keep in mind owning a horse is a financial responsibility because in addition to paying the monthly board; they get injuries, need vaccinations, worming, hooves, tack/riding equipment and most importantly apples, carrots and lots of horse treats. Absolutely yes!!! there is a horse waiting for you.
