Dec 22, 04 - 3:05 PM Thank You.
Nesh Ta Gol Teh, as I get ready to leave 2004 behind, I have to share with the Tribe some of my thoughts. This site was created by Sage and several other wonderful people who have worked very hard to make it what it is. But without you folks it would have just been an empty house that looks good from the outside. What each and every one of you have brought to this site is your SPIRIT that fills it with LOVE and I want to thank all of you for your support and dedication. This has been one of the most challenging years of my life. Coming off last year with so much good going on in my professional life it seemed that this year was set to shine and it has but not in the ways I thought it would. Losing my girl Cheyenne started a downward spiral that also included my separation from my 13 year relationship that ended in ways that I had not wished for. I felt almost abandoned and alone once again if it was not for Mohawk. This Forum and the interaction with the Tribe has reminded me why I'm in this business and what my mission is. I want to thank each and every one of you for your gifts that you sent me and your beautiful letters that moved me as I read them. As we step into the uncertain future let it be in gladness and trust in the Great Mystery or God or whatever you call the Higher Power that governs our world. I wish all of you a Happy Holidays and a bright and meaningful New Year. With much gratitude and love Jay Tavare.

Thank you -- my brother! Your words have made my heart fill with joy. But, you must know that without YOUR beautiful spirit and your gifts and talents that you have shared with the whole world via your movies, none of us would be here.
As you move from yesterday -- on into a new day --followed by a new tomorrow and enter a brand new year, I pray that you will remember that there is a reason for everything we go through in life. Our experiences (both good and bad) teach us valuable lessons -- learn from them, become wiser and move beyond them. Do good and hold no hate in your heart -- you will be blessed in ways you cannot imagine, believe it! Find comfort in knowing that there are people who really do care about you (unconditionally) and who are sincere. Hold fast to those friends.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS Chief! I continue to pray for you daily for all good and marvelous things. May God keep His watchful and loving eye over you always. [eye]
Peace ,
~Singlemom~
P.S. Wishing Mohawk also a very Merry Christmas from me, "the boys" & our three cats -- Twinkle, Star & Midnight. Meow!

JT,
I hope you don't mind but I really have to hug you right now. (squeezing jt really, really hard. lol) Ok, now you can breath again.
It has been a joy having your house to come to. It's the house on the block where all the kids hang out because the family is so cool. Your beautiful spirit is what makes it so, and the evidence of that is the never ending flow of life affirming energies that emenate from here.
I don't want to get all in your business, but I hope you have plans to spend the holidays with family and friends. I don't want to think of you alone. Give Mohawk the great big hug I gave you sweetie pie, and thank you for thinking of us so foundly.
Much Love, Christi

Jay:
Thank you for the wonderful note and for sharing even more of yourself with us -- your humble tribe friends.
You are an incredibly beautiful person Jay and I mean than in more than the outward side. There is something about you that draws us and so many people to you. You have a peace about you; a goodness that emanates from you and makes us wants to be better people.
I cannot put into words what this site has and continues to mean to me. I have learned so much about American Indians, diversity of others and how people live their lives and reach out to those they don't even know. Through your kindness, grace and generosity you have spanned the miles and shared with each of us--in our own way-- your knowledge, kindness and friendship.
Jay, I pray that this next year brings you all the joy and happiness you so richly deserve and may your star continue to shine.
Happy Hogmanay (Scottish New Year!)
P.S. Christi, can I get in one some of the hugging for Jay?

Dear Jay,
There is no greater appreciation than when someone takes the time to say thank you. Despite your oppositions and obstacles, you have made that time. I would tell you that time heals all wounds but I think that you will have to experience that yourself because no one truly knows or feel your sorrows but you. I will have faith that these experiences will not dampen your spirit but make you a stronger man. Allow me to thank you in return.

Nesh Ta Gol Teh, Good Friend & Good Chief! Thank you for your heartfelt words that bring us ever closer to you in spirit & compassion. Many appreciative Thanks also go out to Sage & the crew for bringing you to us & presenting you Awesomely in this fine abode. It enables our voices of praise, admiration, appreciation & even opinionated to sound in accord or discord (as life goes) but all-in-all we are here for YOU! Very sorry to hear of your heartbreak, I'm sure there is much of yourself that will feel the loss still. Glad Brother MoMos was a constant comfort & likewise I hope you understand & take it to heart that we do love you & will be here or there for you. All you have to do is ask (hint, wink, blink, do that thing you do so well: comtemplate then nod your head). True friends do things that way & remember, some strangers are angels in disguise. Figuratively speaking, this is your house. Come home now & again & maybe together we can carry each other thru' the inevitable trials, as well as celebrate the joys of life. May the Great Spirit bring you healing to your heart, strength to your will & refreshment for your spiritual hunger. Thank you for allowing us this joy of having you in our lives. You are a comfort & are truly loved!
Happy Holidays Jay! Wishing you much success & prosperity for the New Year. Shine On!

Dec 22nd, 2004 - 11:40 PM Re: Thank You.
Dear Jay,
All of the ladies above say it so well. I will try to fumble and bumble my way through it. And if it comes out stupid - well, that's what i'm good at.
Have for some time been trying to gather my thoughts on what, how to say thank you and appreciation to you.
The first i saw of you was in "The Missing" and i thought, 'who is this guy?'. Found your website.
Very well taken care by Sage and the others - thank
you, too! But the more i read and learned the more
i was impressed, like, things that you get involved in so you can "give back in an industry (that's)
all about me". How you really 'roll up your sleeves" and work. And work hard and intelligently to tell the story. The encouragement you give. The humor that you bring to your roles. It is so good to make people laugh in this often times sad world. This list goes on & on, but my attention span doesn't (grin).
Your ceremonial name ( may i say "He Who Remembers the Past") really fits you. As a story teller you have been able to "inspire, educate and entertain."
I don't know if you realize to what extent you have,
and the different ways. And also give honor and rememberance to peoples that have passed. Like what
Kayitah represented. We (Jaybirds) don't know of all the work you have done, including writing, but look forward to finding out, and the future work you
have to do.
For lack of a better way to say it, I am sorry for
what you have gone through this past year. I am sorry about Cheyenne, but glad that she had you, and you had her for at least some time. My little family has had so many animal companions & friends through the years. It has been sad to the heart for
each one (aside from the one that bit me on the face,
we can laugh about that now - didn't hurt either, it's a long story). It's been hard and sad to see
my kids sadness at loosing our companions. I know
some people will laugh, but we even have a little funeral for them, but it helps, and i guess that is something particular (mostly) to humans. We've had
all kind of critter friends through the years. I
sometimes wonder if in 200 years my back yard is
an archealogical site and they'll look upon it as
evidence of some weird guinnea pig and rabbit worshipping cult. About the best reconcilliation with loosing our pets, is that (even with the hurt)
at least we've been able to have their company for awhile, and that's better than not having them at all.
And we give thanks for that. You were a special
angel to Cheyenne, and even thought i wasn't around, i feel that can honestly say that she loved you and
more than appreciated what you did for her.
I am sorry for how you felt about the ending of your
relationship. Before the last post about the difficult time in your life, i "dreamed on" a dream with you in it. (And no ladies, it wasn't some romantic,....., dream either, sorry). We were close to a family masoleum and there were alot of very emotional people around. Whatever this 'entity' was it was overwhelming, overbearing, trying to describe it. But, the thing was that with all this going on around you, you faced it with grace and dignity. You could hold your head up, and even keep some calm and peace about you. Also, you were dressed semi-casually, but you wore it really good, but that's pretty much a given. It was good to see you being
able to go through adversities, overcome them, and without being bitter. Guess it shows what is thought of you.
On the radio some while back, they were talking about what (3?) things a woman could do for a man to help make a marriage work, (something like that, i probably have it messed up), but one guy called in and
said "believe in me, believe in me, believe in me".
I know that the Jaybirds aren't married to you,
(that would be a harem???), but for a certainty, i know you Tribe "believes in you, believes in you,
believes in you". You have the Tribe's backing and
their confidence in you, and much more. Also, if it
did get down to it i'm sure you could readily and
very easily find "6 wives" from the Tribe just for
starters. (grin, grin, and more grinning) (well, actually, probably more than just grinning.....)
Thank you for all the good and encouraging things you have taught and shared with us. Especially like,
"Let all good things happen."
Have been trying to think of what i was wanting/trying to say. Like from a school yearbook
"Stay as sweet as you are" just didn't work. Roma's
encouragement to "shine on" is good. But then something came to mind from a book, "The Outsiders",
(and at the risk of me sounding corny, but what the hey) were the words "Stay golden".
Have i ever run off at the fingers. Tomorrow i'll
be asking myself "what did i say this time, and why?".
Well, it's a fumbling, bumbling try at saying thank you to you.
Best to you. Happy heart to you.
with much respect, sharon

STRENGTH, COURAGE & WISDOM
There are many words that exist, choosing the correct ones are proving quite difficult.
Jay , I read your post much earlier in the evening, but here this writer was stalled. It was so clear, the strength of character you possess to have written something so near, and dear to your heart, and I truly didn't know what special thing I could transmit that would allow you to understand, ' I feel you', as only experience can.
This time I will use another's words...
Here it is about 3:22 AM. I tend to work late. Seems this is when I'm most productive. The music of the moment is INDIA ARIE who at the time is singing about STRENGTH , COURAGE & WISDOM, having the faith to have it, stepping out on it, and how these characteristics exist in all of us as much as our Soul allows.........
STRENGTH
The mere Strength of the mind is more powerful than all powers, and must sometimes grind to dust everything that opposes it.......
From: "The Mind" by, Kahlil Gibran
COURAGE
Courage is a volcano.
The seed of indecision never grows in its center.
Braving the mysteries of life is more noble than shutting yourself up in silence.............
"Courage" (portion of) by Kahlil Gibran
WISDOM
Learn the words of wisdom uttered by the sages and apply them within your life. Live them out, but do not disclaim them, for whoever repeats what he has not understood is as useless as a donkey laden with books.
Step back wisdom that does not weep,
philosophy that does not laugh,
and greatness that does not bow down before children.
"WISDOM" by Kalil Gibran
For Our Special Brother,Jay .
I am sending a voice, Great Spirit, my Grandfather, forgetting nothing you have made, the stars of the universe and the grasses of the earth. You have said to me, when I was young and could hope, that in difficulty I should send a voice four times, once for each quarter of the earth, and you would hear me. Today I send a voice for a people in despair....
Hear me, not for myself, but for my people; I am old. Hear me that they may once more go back into the sacred hoop and find the good red road, the shielding tree !
Black Elk, Lakota Sioux
Your 'Tribe' will always cherish your sweet Spirit, that we sense from your Forum. Jay to you, Sage, and the rest of the internet family, have happy holidays, and the joy of the knowledge that as the door of this year closes, another opens to a future new, untouched, and open to all possibilities.
I have been to the end of the earth.
I have been to the end of the waters.
I have been to the end of the sky.
I have been to the end of the mountains.
I have found none that are not my friends.

Dearest Jay.
It took me a while to get my emotions together after reading your post. So here I go with my emotions running high………………………………………………………….
Thank you for sharing another part of yourself with us.
I believe in the circle of life. In doing what you do as a human being and as an artist, it gives back and inspire others. Others (such as us Jaybirds) are inspired by you and want to be the best we can be and give back to you and the world.
I am so proud and feel blessed and honored to be a part of this amazing circle that just keeps getting bigger and better with time.
These are some of the words from you, given to us for inspiration, knowledge, wisdom and understanding and so here, I feel the need to give them back to you at this time:
"Listen up Grass Hopper!"
“The most important thing I have learned is before I start any endeavor I will set a higher reason for doing it what I mean by that is do it for some reason more than personal gain. Then relinquish control and work hard but surrender to the unknown and welcome the challenges that are ahead. The Buddhist say it best... If you want to make God laugh tell him all your plans!”
“It is amazing when you focus on something, suddenly everything around you make sense in a different way and you will find your answers everywhere.”
“I see myself as a story teller and when you tell a story that makes people think and even discuss their beliefs it's a step in the right direction. It is said that the doors to heaven and hell are adjacent and the doors are unmarked. One man's heaven is another's hell.”
“Each day is the birth of new possibilities and every one of us must start again and face the challenges that humbled us yesterday with a fresh look and ask the questions that we have taken for granted again.”
“I do believe that each one of us has a destiny but I also believe that destiny will only take you half way there you have to chart the rest of the way yourself. Also it is hard to judge a book when you are half way through. Sometimes you have to allow the situation to pass before all of the lessons or the reasons are revealed.”
Jay, from my heart to yours and back again, “Shine On” we are always here for you.

P.S. Fellow Jaybirds, you all are awesome…………………………………

Jay! Iyayraykere! (Ainu) Thank youuuuuuuu for being the great guy that you are! Don't let the bad things in life drag you down! Cuz all us silly Jaybirds (can't forget the guy in the back) will always be here to help support you. You are not and will never be alone. Whether in shared grief over a loved one (Cheyenne, My Bootsy Collins, Mom, Auntie, Roma's Horsey, Fontenel's situation with the battered child) or sad situations (Your long term break up and my closing of my dubbing studio) or in Happiness (I do believe everyone was there to witness some special Jaybird's successful achievement of getting a driver's license) and definitely you getting the awesome acting parts that you do. Your kind words definitely melt my winter months. Keep the faith and jut your chin out. I don't want to sound too "typical" by saying that there are many more fish in the sea...but it's really the only thing that comes to mind. I think you are doing a great job of moving on in your life and the coming of the New Year will definitely bring out some rewards.
If I could initiate a group Jaybird hug with Jay in the middle (Hope you don't get claustophobic)
We'll squeeze out all the sad thoughts....and maybe a few inards too.
Give Mohawk a hug for me. And splurge on him won'tcha? Go out, buy a bunch of rawhide toys to chew on, get him some toys, a soccer ball or something. God knows I spent about $100 on all my pets this year combined. lol.
Have a happy New Year and don't do anything I wouldn't do. Ok. So that's a bad thing to say cuz there really isn't much that I wouldn't do. How bout this. Don't do anything that Barbara wouldn't do. Tee hee hee.
Lots of love,

Hello Chief Jay and fellow tribemembers,
What can I say that hasn't always been said and probably much better than I could ever put into words. The end of the year is approaching fast and that does bring feelings of not only things that have happened but also the things that could have been.
As I go into the new year, I have a open heart and it says "let go of what is past and embrace what is to come". I am wishing the best to everyone as I have been truly blessed to have met (in a way, through this medium) the people who contibrute to Jay's fan forum, Sage, and the Chief himself. Life is interesting. One moment, one thing can connect, touch and influence so many but that's the magical part of it all. So thank you everyone and have a good day, where ever you are.
Renee
P.S. To my girl Christi- (LOL)I had to be at work at 5 am today (I am pouting because I am so sad remembering), but I hope you and my other sister in frosty snowland, Toosie, are enjoying this very special weather we are experiencing today!
Oh yeah- count me in on that group hug! It's freezing here in Ypsilanti, so I need a good squeeze to keep me warm!

You know what your heart want to say but when it comes to putting it down you never know how it's going to sound.
Jay I could feel your pain and sadness Jay I'm reaching out to you just to let you know I'm here if you ever need me You remember the madness I was going through a few months back. I remember your words letting me know how much you cared for me and asking me to let the madness go. The loved you share for the little one was the highness form of love one person can share for another. Those are words to live by. I never forgotten those words. You of all people cared enough for me to respond to me in a way again I couldn't speak. You have that effect on me.

God bless you and your family and friends. Spread love, warmth, and peace this holiday season. These are the most important gifts you could ever give. They are well worth their weight in gold. May good fortune follow you and everyone on the forum, wherever you go. May the Great Spirit protect you from all misfortune.
Footprints in the Sand by Mary Stevenson
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."
Singlemom usually gives us insightful words (thank you ) , but I wanted to share this with everyone here and Jay. Remember this during the tragedies in your lives. I have been inspired by these words when I experienced loss and hard times. Still going through them . I know that joy comes in the morning when you can wake up and face the rising sun . My gift to you
and a special to you Jay and for everyone

Dec 25th, 2004 - 1:22 AM Re: Thank You. ...Now that I've had some time to think....
Jay,
I've had way to much sugar as I wrapped presents. So, now I'm awake, here in the wee hours of Christmas morn, wondering what is it I can give to the'Chief'. I can give/ share a bit more of myself.
My personal life has also had a tumoultous year - finally putting closure to something that should have been ended a long, time ago.
Even when a so-called friend asked," how in the world ? Why did you? What were you thinking?" Not to mention, the one I just love, "you know this is all your fault", so boisterously yelled in my ear, again,by what's his name, only several hours ago.
Experience has finally taught that no one is perfect, blame/fault is a two-way street. We all make mistakes.
Still, no matter how my heart feels, my body is able to be out there. Our wings are not clipped. As painful as it is, we're not in a fight for our lives. Time can heal this.
That thought alone reminds me of a mission. We still need to be able to say the right words to uplift, and give good reasons for the fight to continue.
You know,we can go horseback riding with a friend, even challenge each other to see who the better rider is.
I can practice punches & kicks with my 'little peep' ( problems with being aggressive enough during 'kumite' ).
Sit up until the wee hours writing, drawing or just watching T>V>.
Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'm on long-distance into the wee hours with a friend. ( Plus *free nights) .
Jay, in many arenas, you are not alone , but in the most upsetting of times remember, as hurtful as it is, we could both have worse challenges.
So my dear brother , let's give ourselves some time, real friends, some healing space, and look to this new year with renewed hope.
Love ya

Dear Jay,
I’m glad Sage and the others created this site for all of us to display our dedication to you as your faithful fans. The site really looks good, and I have been able to cruise through the archives and do some reading to get me up to speed on who’s who and what’s been said. All I can say is, “Wow!” This Tavare Tribe is BIG! It has one Chief, a few Elders, a handful of Braves, and mercy sakes! . . . a Cornucopia of SQUAWS!! ROFLOL! Obviously, it’s a very fun and caring Tribe and I’m glad to be a part of it!
It’s good to know that the Tribe helped you to take your mind off of your troubles, even if it was for just a little while. I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your “baby girl”, Cheyenne. I lost my “baby girl”, Sheba, on 1/17/03, and it was tuff for me too. I know that you will forever love and cherish her memory with a place in your heart; but at the same time, I hope your heart will make new room for yet another Wolf Child that needs your love and healing touch. If you think you would like to have a memorial stone for Cheyenne for inside your house, check out www.rainbowbridgepetmemorials.com. Their stones are so beautiful! My testimony is on Page 3.
Aaaahhhh Jay, I believe that one day, God will guide your steps so that they intersect with the One woman who will actually be the Destiny of Your Soul. Then, you will give and she will take the Tavare name in front of family, friends, witnesses, in-laws and “out-laws” and she will wear it with dignity and pride.
I think it’s great that you know what your mission is, since you do it oh so well (see UnBowed)! The Tribe and I think that your future is very bright and growing brighter by the year. I for one can’t wait to see you in more leading roles, preferably Romances, of course!
Well, take care of yourself, Jay; and I really hope to see you post more messages to the Forum. It’s fun to read how you think and reason.
Holler!!

I love this post!

Dec 23rd, 2004 - 6:27 AM Re: Thank You.

I know I'm rambling on and on but I hope that you understand where I'm coming from. Don't you worry you star is very bright in my heart. YOU IS GOING TO ROCK IN 2005! God bless you and your family and friends. Spread love, warmth, and peace this holiday season. These are the most important gifts you could ever give. They are well worth their weight in gold.

Love ya
Dazzle

Dear Jay,
I’m glad Sage and the others created this site for all of us to display our dedication to you as your faithful fans.
Holler!!
